Embalming Time
"Photography does not create eternity, as art does; it embalms time, rescuing it simply from its proper corruption."
- AndrĂ© Bazin (1918–1958), French film critic

A San Francisco Sunset
After a non existent summer, we finally caught a break. Mother Nature brought San Francisco a few nice days of warm weather and sunny skies. Walking home from work, I looked up and noticed all of the crazy colors that were swirling in the sky. As soon as I got home, I grabbed my camera and sprinted to the roof. I was just in time to catch the sunset before the sun went behind the hills.
The yellows, oranges and purples were breathtaking. I could have sat up on my roof with my thoughts for hours just watching the colors change in the sky. Truly one of the best sunsets I've ever experienced.

Cold, wet and rainy
This weekend involved a little ladies trip up the coast to the beautiful town of Mendocino. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain most of the time we were there. But we didn't let that stop us from seeing the sites or a fantastic day of wine tasting followed by a Giants win at the local pub.
Looking out on the cliffs over the water made us feel small. The water was so bright blue it looked like it had been dyed with food coloring. The waves were huge and crashed so high up on the cliff that even standing high above the water, we got a little sea spray to the face. As we stood there watching the waves roll in, it began to pour. Standing in the rain, overlooking something so vast and gorgeous put a smile of my face.

Big Sur Beauty
I love how the streams of sunlight are coming through the small openings in the redwoods. It cast the most beautiful light across this cabin and VW van. It made me smile to think how the sun can penetrate even the smallest gaps above to brighten everything below.
This little guy was such a find! He was sitting calmly on top of the fence as 7 of us walked by. My friend actually spotted him and even after getting really close was still stone frozen. He stayed that way long enough for me to make this great photo of him, highlighting his blue belly.
